1. The Club shall be open for members every day, except Thanksgiving
Day and Christmas Day. Serving hours will be the legal hours: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00
a.m. weekdays, and 12 noon to 1:00 a.m. on Sundays and legal holidays. All persons
must leave when the bartender leaves.
2. No person shall be admitted to Club privileges except members, holders of
guest cards and properly registered guests.
3. Any non-member must be introduced and registered in the Guest Book by the
inviting member. The period of guest privileges terminates with the departure
of the introducing member.
4. The member who introduces guests or visitors shall be held responsible for
their actions and any debts incurred by them.
5. No person shall be admitted as and registered as a guest more than 12 times
a year or more than twice in any given month, with the exception of sons and
daughters of members up to the age of twenty-one (21).
6. Children shall be accompanied by their parents in the lounge area at all
times. Persons under twenty-one (21) are not allowed to sit at the bar at any
time.
7. Any member transferring their membership key or allowing same to be used
by a non-member shall be subject to loss of membership.
8. The number of guests or visitors to whom Club privileges may be granted at
the request of an individual member is six at any time. The privileges of a
guest or visitor may be terminated at any time at the discretion of the House
Committee.
9. Membership cards must be presented at the request of Stewards, Officers,
Directors, House and other committee members of the club.
10. Guest cards may be issued by the House Committee or Commodore at the request
of members in accordance with the by-laws.
11. Members and guests shall be properly attired at all times. Bathing suits
are not allowed at any time in the clubhouse. Shirts with sleeves are required
at all times. Shorts are not allowed in the dining room on Saturday night. Bare
feet are not allowed in the Clubhouse at any time. Coats must be hung in the
coatroom.
12. All liquor consumed on the club premises, including the swimming pool and
Barbecue Pit area, must be purchased from the Westerly Yacht Club, per order
of the Rhode Island State Liquor Laws.
13. All Club equipment, bar and other sales, parking lot, and members' use of
the hall as granted by the Board of Directors, is under the jurisdiction and
control of the House Committee, subject to the Board of Directors.
14. Members' purchases must be paid in cash or by credit card at the time of
purchase. The Board of Directors has eliminated any kind of charging directly
to the club.
15. Books, magazines, newspapers, or other articles belonging to the Club shall
not be mutilated, destroyed, or taken from the Clubhouse.
16. Members may be charged for any damage or breakage caused by them or their
guests; the amount to be assessed by the Board of Directors.
17. No petitions or subscription papers shall be circulated in the Clubhouse
without the permission of the Board of Directors.
18. Members requesting the use of Club facilities must submit the request in
writing to the House Committee for approval.
19. No dogs or other pets are allowed in the Clubhouse. All dogs must be leashed
on Club Property. When walking dogs, members will please use the land area along
the South fence, from the dumpster to Watch Hill Road. Owners will please pick
up after their pets and deposit same in plastic bags into the dumpster.
20. No campers, trailers, mobile homes or vehicles with sleeping accommodations
can be parked overnight on Club property.
21. No car washing on Club premises.
22. Parking along the dock areas is for boat owners and members only. All vehicles
without a club decal must park in the guest parking lot.
23. Payment for all tickets ordered for a club function is the responsibility
of the ordering member. If unable to attend, the tickets must be canceled by
notifying the function chairperson prior to the Tuesday preceding the weekend
function.
